Interview with ACA Contributor Brad Schoenfeld PhD, CSCS, CSPS, FNSCA
Brad Schoenfeld, PhD, CSCS, CSPS, FNSCA, is widely regarded as one of America’s leading fitness experts. He is the author of multiple best-selling fitness including his newest, \”The M.A.X. Muscle Plan\” (Human Kinetics, 2012). He has been published or featured in nearly every major fitness and women\’s magazine (including Cosmopolitan, Self, Marie Claire, Fitness, and Shape), and has appeared on hundreds of television shows and radio programs across the United States.
Brad received his PhD in applied exercise science from Rocky Mountain University. He is currently an assistant professor in the exercise science program at Lehman College and is director of their human performance lab. His research focuses on elucidating the mechanisms of muscle hypertrophy and their applications to resistance training. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers on exercise and sports nutrition.
Certified as a strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is is a fellow of the organation. He is also certified as a personal trainer by the NSCA, ACSM, and several other fitness organzations. He is a sought-after speaker who presents internationally on both the professional and consumer levels.
